Harrison outgrew his bike at the end of last Summer. Sawyer has since gladly claimed it as his own. So a new bike for Harrison was in order, and with nice weather this weekend, I thought I would make a quick stop at Target this afternoon and have him pick one out.
Since it was just H &I after attending his friend's birthday party, the task at hand seemed simple. We headed straight to the bikes (well, by way of the Band-Aides, Soft Soap and loaf of bread I also needed) Anywho, the racks were practically bare. BARE. Harrison perched upon a 6 inches too big, red mountain bike and tried convincing me it was perfect.

Don't be silly I told him. We're not going to buy this bike just because it's the only one here! We'll check Toys-R-Us! That's when the mom next to me in the bike aisle told me not to bother. "They don't have any bikes assembled and ready to buy. Just the ones in boxes" Since it was 4pm and daylight hours were limited, that just wasn't going to work.
So we went to the Target in the next town over. Nada. We went into BJs which shares a parking lot. Nope. I called Walmart on my cell phone, and they had nothing left after a frenzy of bike purchases on Saturday.
Harrison's chin quivered. He started blinking rapidly. He asked if we could go back to the original Target and buy the the first bike we had seen. The only bike we had seen.
Which is when I flew into damage-control mode. And explains how we came home with these instead. Even more exciting when you consider that we are due for rain Monday and Tuesday and you can't ride your bike in the rain, but you can shoot up your brothers, inside, until bedtime!

You are an awesome mom. Too bad we aren't closer. I think my girls could give H a run for his money with those Nerf toys.
All the bikes in town were sold out? What recession? really.
Graham's face is inexpressibly cute. Goodness-- will you ever be able to say no to him?
Oh Jan. Graham is the most beautiful child I have probably ever seen. Like truly, truly beautiful. He should be in pageants, LOL. What is that Jeep all about? I think Finny needs one!
That is crazy?! No bikes anywhere. Weird. Maybe sleeper cells are stock-piling them. (kidding!)
Graham is too cute with his new wheels. He looks rather pleased with himself, don't you think?!
Like what you wrote.....but can we just skip to Graham? OMH he is so cute. I think it should be illegal to have eyes like that. He is beyond beautiful.....
LOL. That is SO you to go in for one thing and come out with something else. Weird about all the bikes being sold out - there must have been a mad dash that day. I hope you have better weather soon so he can enjoy some bike rides! And Graham - swoon (x a million). He just keeps getting cuter which I definitely did not think possible!
