cherry crest adventure farm

I missed out on the fun today (Dr.'s appointments!) but Harrison has declared we need to go back every year!
I would like to state for the record that I did brush the boys hair before sending them on their way with daddy.

and I think a bumpy hayride could be in order by the end of the week!

is there life after junie b?

This Summer, Harrison and I read every book in the Junie B. Jones series. And I just have to say it - I LOVE that girl. I was skeptical at first, because I'd heard Junie has a fresh mouth and uses words we don't like at our house - "stupid" for example. But you know what? If you've actually read these books for yourself and you still don't like her? I think our friendship could be in jeopardy. Wound too tightly, comes to mind for the critics.

The sad part is that nothing quite compares to her hilarity. Not Roscoe Riley, not Ready Freddy, not Nate the Great (and his freakishly illustrated neighbors) Boxcar Children or Cam Jansen (in fact, she's a bit of a snooze fest for H. and I). I hope Barbara Park will have lots more 1st grade adventures in store for Junie B. - because I tell ya, I miss that girl. And grandpa Frank Miller, and that richie Lucille - SOB!

Sawyer and I have also been exploring some new titles. If you don't have these in your toddler/preschooler collection - you should!

What good books have you read lately? I have a Reading Information Night at Harrison's school on Wednesday. I keep saying, I just want to make it to that, and then Graham is welcome to make his arrival. Goodnight Moon is waiting for him!

kissable lips

don't you agree?
A thousand smooches to Graham for in fact being head DOWN! I don't know if the Dr. on Monday was wrong about his breech assessment, or if the little bugger flipped into position. Either way - I am thrilled and thankful that he's ready to make his exit!

Maybe he will be my first compliant child? This picture alone is proof of his cooperative spirit! The tech said they are usually too smooshed for a profile shot at this point. Such a good boy! Can't wait to meet you Mr. Grahamkins!!!

art imitates life

While Sawyer was making this craft at preschool this morning, I was at my weekly OB appointment.
My 36-37 week update?
Look closely, and you'll notice that baby Graham is not head down.
More black and white pictures coming soon...I have an ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday. Pray that I have a little acrobat in there and that he'll do a nice big flip for us!

09-09-09

We started the birthday festivities early this year, and took Harrison and his best buddies from church, to Giggleberry Fair on Saturday.
Shooting your friends with foam balls really is just as much fun as having a party (it's also a lot less stress when you have a preggo mom, back to school and soccer every Saturday)
On Sunday, Grandmom and Grandpop came with birthday cake. Yum!
And Space Police Legos. Fun!
Finally on his real birthday, Harrison was ecstatic to receive a metal detector (which he has talked about wanting for months now)
and an electric scooter, which he can't actually use until the battery charges for 18 hours. Oops.
Harrison took (store bought, there is no shame in that! And the plastic carriers are golden for transporting) cupcakes to school with Star Wars ring toppers.
I took this opportunity to snag a picture of him with his teacher - Ms. Malone. Unfortunately, I couldn't get more shots around the classroom because Sawyer bolted on me.
Since you can never have enough indoor play zone action and bad pizza, we took the boys to Chuck-E-Cheese for dinner.

And then Nanny & Cappy joined us for birthday cake back at the house
and of course they brought presents! Thanks for the Legos Uncle John & Aunt Sandra!
Harrison - I love you like crazy! I think SEVEN is going to be an amazing year - first grade, more lost teeth, piano lessons, and a new baby brother. It's going to be an adventure! I LOVE YOU!!!

preschooler

For Sawyer's teacher gifts, I decided not to re-invent the wheel.

He was so excited for his turn to go to school! When it was finally time to go, his exact words were "Let's hit the road, mom!"

Sawyer was all about having his own backpack.

We are at a new school this year (I switched so Sawyer would have some friends in his class) and everyone raves about Mrs. Sarnese. It's much deserved praise - she is wonderful! We love her already!
