I can't really think of the last time I sat back, exhaled and said "ahhh, it was a perfect day!" 24 hours is A LONG time with two rowdy boys! But today I was able to steal an hour of bliss.. Jonathan came home early to grill steaks and we had our first corn on the cob of the season. He brought me flowers, just because! I made a cake, just because! And now Harrison & Sawyer are outside slip n' sliding until bedtime. It's not every day you see 90 degree temperatures in April! And it's not every day you're able to have a "perfect hour" I'm going to savor it. Along with another tiny sliver of that cake...
Actually, cake could be to blame for the fact that I've gained 14 pounds already. That's pretty much a pound a week. Uh-oh.16 weeks

I love days - hours - moments...whatever, like those! What a sweet husband to bring you flowers just because, and what a wonderful wife to bake a cake just because. And, you look fantastic!! Oh, and from all my experiences with doctors during pregnancy (which I've had A LOT of!), I'm pretty sure about a pound a week is right on target, so fear not!! And, it's all worth it in the end, anyway! :)
i have yet to make THE CAKE but i'm going to this week. is it strange i thought of you the very minute i read that post? you are a lover of all things lemon. ;)
hours/moments like that are what we SAHM live for. truly, they make everything else bearable.

shut up. You look BEAUTIFUL. And a pound a week is actually really good in my book. I would be thrilled with only gaining 40 pounds, LOL (no seriously. I would.)
Your cake looks delicious...how did it taste? And for the record I think the frosting looks perfect. I want some right about now.
