Star Spangled

Each 4th of July I find my heart swelling with more and more pride that I am an American. This is a great country, and I am incredibly thankful for my freedom and for those who fight to protect it.

The annual parade was held on Saturday this year and Harrison's learned over the years to be prepared for the candy that lands at his feet. He decorated bags for both himself and Sawyer.

In addition to the candy there were kazoos, toothbrushes and coupons for free water ice.

Graham was happy to wave the flag and listen to the bands.

We had it made in the shade this year.

Today we celebrated with Jonathan's parents after church and then Nanny & Cappy came over with dozens of fireworks for an impressive driveway display.

Happy 4th of July!!!

You have the best bunch of All-American boys!! And I love the kazoos. You don't see them enough any more.

What a fun day..... our driveway fireworks display was impressive. Jonathan did a wonderful job lighting the fireworks that Harrison designed so well. Graham seemed to enjoy the lights and sounds and Sawyer was happy to have his friends share in the festivities. All in all a wonderful day. Looks like everyone had a good time at the parade, maybe next year Nanny & Cappy can come along as well.
There is NO place like the good old US of A!!!!

I love your festivities, and your star-spangled attire. Your outfit(s) are so darling, Jan. And the boys too - just so very cute and festive.

Lily always paints a paper bag for candy collecting too! Happy 4th! We really are so very blessed to be Americans. :)
